Hair Transplant NY

Transformative Hair Transplants

The Linear Strip Method is an outpatient hair transplant procedure in which a strip of donor follicles are removed from thick locations at the back of the scalp and relocated to thinning locations. Unlike NeoGraft, donor follicles are removed by excising a strip of scalp. The follicles are prepared into individual grafts under a microscope and then implanted using a scalpel and forceps. Although the Linear Strip Method is considered a more invasive hair transplant procedure than NeoGraft, results are transformational and natural-looking. The Linear Strip Method can:

  • Achieve beautiful, healthy hair growth.
  • Thicken areas of thinning hair at the crown of the head.
  • Cover areas of balding scalp.
  • Increase overall hair density.
  • Shorten the length of a traditional, manual FUE surgery.
  • Shape a receding hairline.

Everyone’s hair loss locations and severity varies on an individual basis. Dr. Elie Levine, Dr. Jody Levine, and our talented team of technicians can evaluate your hair loss during a private consultation and determine a hair transplant treatment plan based on your individual needs.

Procedure Recovery Post-Op Care
The Linear Strip Method is performed in our AAAASF accredited in-office surgical suite. Patients may return home the same day as surgery. Patients must wear a head dressing overnight after the Linear Strip Method.
The Linear Strip Method takes approximately 5 hours, but patients remain awake and are able to read, work, or watch TV throughout the hair transplant. Patients may return to work as early as 3-4 days following a hair transplant. Patients may enjoy a light shower the day following surgery and lightly shampoo 2 days after hair transplant.
Local anesthesia is used during the Linear Strip Method. Patients may engage in light exercise 1 week following the Linear Strip Method. Sutures will be removed in 7-10 days following the Linear Strip Method.
Patients may engage in more strenuous exercise 2 weeks following a hair transplant. Antibacterial ointment will be used on the donor site (where hair is taken) for 1-2 weeks following surgery; antibacterial ointment will be used on the graft site (where hair is transplanted) for 2-3 days following surgery.
